Although Mexicans are able to travel with just a passport without visas to 149 countries around the world, Mexico's visa-free regime with other countries is not always reciprocal. Citizens of 130 countries around the world require a visa to visit Mexico, and it can only be obtained at one of the country's 130 consular offices abroad.
A visa to Mexico is required
If your country is on this list, you will need to obtain a Mexico visa regardless of what mode of transport you intend to use to enter the country. Exception: citizens of Ukraine, Russia and Turkey are able to enter Mexico without a visa, but only by plane, having issued a free electronic permit.

As of 2021, Venezuelan citizens do not need a visa to visit Mexico.
A standard visa to Mexico is open for travel for any purpose that does not involve commercial activity, with a period of stay in the country of up to 180 days. The length of stay is renewed after leaving and re-entering the country.

One of the few exceptions to the visa regime is provided for citizens of Ukraine, Russia and Turkey. Although they technically need a visa to enter Mexico, they can apply without payingelectronic permissionvia the Internet, print and present at passport control. The electronic authorization is only valid for entry into Mexico by air.
On the other hand, for citizens of certain countries, say, India and China, the procedure for acquiring a Mexican visa looks more complicated. This is due to the higher requirements for documents submitted when obtaining a Mexico visa.
