Consulate of Belarus in Mexico - Passport and visas

Consulate of Belarus in Mexico – Passport and Visas

There is no embassy or consulate of the Republic of Belarus in Mexico. The consular section of the Russian Embassy in Mexico City does not serve citizens of Belarus and does not issue any documents on behalf of this state.

Citizens of Belarus located in Mexico are served by the Belarusian Embassy in Cuba (also in Mexico), which is located in Havana.

  • Address: Ave. 5ta, #6405 e/64 y 66, Miramar, Playa, La Habana, CP 11300, República de Cuba
  • Web:https://www.cuba.mfa.gov.by
  • Opening hours: Monday — Friday from 9:00 to 17:30, by appointment only

If you are in Mexico, you have the opportunity to contact the Belarusian Embassy in Cuba remotely, in particular via WhatsApp, and many consular issues can also be resolved by sending documentation back and forth by courier delivery service.

In particular, if you have lost your Belarusian passport in Mexico, you have the right to remotely request and purchase from the consulate a certificate of return to Belarus, with which you can return to your homeland instead of a passport. To do this, you should purchase a document from the Mexican police confirming the theft of your passport, collect a package of documentation, including completed applications and photographs, and send it all to the diplomatic mission. The list of required documents must be clarified in advance at the consulate.

If your child was born in Mexico, you will also be able to obtain a certificate of return for him at the consulate, the child will use it to enter Belarus, and at home you will continue to issue Belarusian citizenship to the child. To do this, you need to collect a package of papers, including the child's Mexican birth certificate with an apostille and completed forms, and send it to the consulate.

The problem is that courier delivery services that operate in Mexico (DHL, Fedex and others) do not work in Cuba, and prompt delivery of documents there is impossible. In this case, you have the right to contact the consulates of Belarus in other countries of the world, having previously agreed with them on the process that follows.

It is logical that if you are sending papers issued in Mexico to a diplomatic mission (for example, a police certificate or birth certificate will be in Spanish), then it is better to choose one of the Belarusian consulates in Latin American countries. Then you won’t have to translate these papers from Spanish and have the translation certified.
