General conditions

The container should have ventilation holes, carrying handles and a door with a lock. The animal must move freely in the container.

The animal must remain in the container at all times during the flight and boarding/disembarking. Feeding the animal is prohibited at this time.

The choice of passenger seat is made by the airline, not the passenger.

Procedure and document requirements

1. The animal must haveinternational veterinary passport. It must indicate all vaccinations given to the animal. An important point is the rabies vaccination, which must be done no earlier than 12 months before departure and no later than 30 days before departure. It is worth noting here that although Russian veterinary regulations allow rabies vaccination 20 days before exporting an animal, the regulations of many countries, including Mexico, require that such vaccination be done no later than 30 days.

Even if the airline does not require a deworming stamp in the veterinary passport, we strongly advise deworming and stamping on the passport. This is a Mexican requirement. Deworming must be done no later than 6 months before the travel date. We also recommend having a mark on the treatment of the animal against exoparasites (fleas, ticks) — In addition, they have the opportunity to ask her in Mexico. In both cases, the drug with which this treatment was carried out should be indicated.

2.Chippingwhen traveling to Mexico — optional. Mexican law does not require imported animals to have a microchip. One way or another, first the microchipping is done, the animal is registered in the international registry (which will take about five days), and after — vaccination against rabies.

3. Required to receivecertificate of breeding value of the animalfor export. You have the right not to ask her, but Azur Air and Nordwind have her on the list of required documentation. To obtain it, you should apply with a veterinary passport and pedigree (if any) toRKF(Russian Cynological Federation) orSKOR(Union of Cynological Organizations of Russia). The certificate has no validity period.

4. No earlier than 5 days before departure from Russia, you must receiveVeterinary certificate form No. 1, which is issued only by state veterinary clinics of the Russian Federation (Stations for the Control of Animal Diseases) on the basis of a veterinary passport and after examining the animal. To acquire it, deworming is required. In the column «Special notes» It must indicate that the animal is being exported to Mexico.

If you are flying to Moscow on a domestic flight, Form No. 1 will be sufficient to transport the animal within Russia.

5. You will need to arrive at the airport of departure to Mexico in advance. 3 hours before departure — quite enough. You need to find a customs counter where to fill outcustoms declaration, in which indicate the animal you are exporting.

6. At the airport you should find the Veterinary Control Service point (ask at the information desk), where to fill outVeterinary certificate form No. 5Ainternational standard by providing Certificate Form No. 1. Veterinary control points at Moscow airports operate around the clock. He should exchange the Certificate of Form No. 1 for the Certificate of Form No. 5A free of charge.

Certificate form No. 5A is valid for 24 hours for the export of an animal from Russia and for 15 days — for import into Mexico. It is also valid for 90 days for the return of the animal to Russia (however, for the export of the animal from Mexico, a similar certificate issued by a Mexican authority will follow).

7. Next, you yourself check in for the flight and register your animal, check the animal in your luggage or take it with you into the cabin.

At the same time, you open airlines:

  • veterinary passport
  • international veterinary certificate form No. 5A
  • certificate of breeding value of the animal for export

8. Upon arrival in Mexico, after passing through immigration (passport) control, receiving the animal from your luggage and before going through customs control, you must find the SAGARPA-SENASICA office. Here, for inspection you need to offer an animal, an international veterinary passport and Form No. 5A. After reviewing the papers and examining the animal, a Mexican Import Certificate will be issued. It's free.

It is prohibited to remove the animal from the container until the SAGARPA import certificate is issued.
