The question of which Internet service provider is best in Mexico does not have a clear answer. You can compare packages from different providers and choose the best offer, in your opinion, and then it turns out that this provider is not available in your building or the actual Internet speed and quality of communication specifically in your home leave much to be desired. It would be better to first talk to your neighbors, find out which provider they use, whether they are satisfied, and even measure the Internet speed.
If the issue of price is important to you, here is a short overview of the packages of the three main Internet providers in Mexico. At the same time, you need to understand that more expensive does not mean better, and the actual data transfer speed may differ from the declared one and depends more on the quality of the connection. Even if the company claims that all its cables reach your premises — optical fiber, in fact the speed may be less than expected.
Telmex, Totalplay and IZZI — Here are the three main Mexican Internet service providers. You can find their web pages yourself by searching on Google. We will compare the price of their basic packages, which include the Internet itself and streaming services, and as options — telephony and television.
Companies have simulators on their web pages, so you can specify your desired Internet connection bandwidth, number of TV channels, phone line requirements, or select the streaming services you want to use, and this will allow you to choose the most suitable package among those offered.
We will only talk about the main packages of Internet providers that are available for review on the Internet, choosing a basic Internet connection speed of 100 megabits, in other words 100 Mbps (megabits per second, declared download speed).
Telmex (Infinitum)
100 Mbps: Unlimited Internet + Phone Line with Unlimited Calling within Mexico + Claro Video and Paramount Streaming Service + Claro Drive 200GB + McAfee Antivirus Free = 499 pesos per month plus installation costs. The latter are calculated individually.

Totalplay

All three providers offer something similar to SmartTV under their own brands. However, only Totalplay really brings users closer to pay TV and streaming services at a lower price, because competitors offer these services only as auxiliary options and are not cheap at all. Totalplay also claims the largest coverage among all providers with the highest speed — up to 1000 Mbps.
On the other hand, Telmex, being a state-owned company, offers its customers relatively affordable Internet and does not offer pay TV in its packages. Its streaming services are quite expensive.
IZZI offers more megabytes and TV channels, although it leaves streaming channels «outside» as additional options. But to be honest, we don’t know what we’re allowed to do with 200 TV channels, and without them, the price of the Internet-only package is reduced by only 50 pesos.
According to the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT), the satisfaction index of Mexican consumers with the services of various Internet providers in 2022 was 70.8 on a national average on a scale of 0 to 100 points. All three providers were in first place: Totalplay — in first place with 76.3 customer satisfaction points, IZZI in second place with 72 points and Telmex — in third place with 69.4 points.
