Note:

1. This chapter does not include inedible nuts or fruits.

2. Chilled fruits and nuts must be classified in the same headings as the corresponding fresh fruits and nuts.

3 Dried fruits or nuts in this group may be subject to partial rehydration or other processing to:

a) increasing preservation or stabilization (in particular, by moderate heat treatment, sulfurization, addition of sorbic acid or potassium sorbate);

b) improving or preserving their appearance (say by adding vegetable oil or small quantities of glucose syrup), provided they still retain the distinctive properties of dried fruit or dried nuts.
