Childbirth in Mexico - Childbirth in Mexico

Childbirth in Mexico — Childbirth in Mexico

There are very few Russian-speaking birth organizers in Mexico. They all offer approximately the same range of services, more or less. These are the services that allow you to combine the individual processes associated with childbirth in Mexico into a single whole and achieve your goals: come to Mexico, successfully give birth and then leave for your homeland with already issued citizenship for the child and permanent residence for the whole family. And don’t extend your stay in Mexico for six months.

We would like to tell you more about our services for organizing childbirth in Mexico. It is not at all necessary that you will need them all at once; you can handle many of them yourself. But at least you will have an idea of what issues you will have to deal with if you decide to come to Mexico to give birth, and how we can help.

Packing for the trip.Even before arriving in Mexico, there are several important issues to discuss. First, what documents to take with you in your particular case. Don’t forget to put an apostille on the certificates, because you won’t be able to do this in Mexico. Secondly, how to prepare and what to say at passport control in order to prepare for the maximum number of days allowed for stay, and not a refusal of entry. Thirdly, preliminary communication will allow you to properly plan your budget and reduce unnecessary expenses. However, on mommy forums there is also enough information for successfully planning a trip to Mexico. But you need to apply all of it to yourself, because everyone’s needs are different.

Meeting at the airport. You are in a foreign country, you have a lot of baggage, you don’t know the language. Most often, even before arriving in Mexico, you rent temporary housing, AirBnB or a hotel, which you have to somehow get to. Taking a taxi at the airport is not difficult at all, it is absolutely safe. But it’s much more pleasant when we meet you at the airport in personal transport, even executive class transport is allowed — this way you will feel supported from the first minutes of arrival in Mexico.

Choosing and renting housing.Renting through AirBnB is suitable for a short time, but for a long-term stay it will cost you to rent a house or apartment. Which safe area to choose, is there the necessary infrastructure and clinics there, how far is it from there to the beach and shopping outlets — These and a million similar questions are asked by all visitors. Cancun has a huge selection of housing to suit every taste and budget. We will select housing options according to your needs, take you around the city, show you and tell you, otherwise you will get lost in the abundance of offers. Important point — rental period. As a rule, long-term housing is rented for at least six months to a year, but we can try and negotiate with the owner for a shorter period. Communication with the landlord, checking the terms of the contract, avoiding pitfalls such as deposits and socio-economic assessment of the tenant — that's why you need our help. A realtor also has the right to help you, who will accompany you in matters of rent until signing the contract and settlement. But in the future, if any problems arise with the landlord, someone else will have to deal with them, for example, we, the birth organizers. You still have to arrange your home and buy everything you need for your baby and for a comfortable life in Mexico over the next few months, and our advice won’t hurt here either.

Car rental. If in your home country you are used to traveling by car, do not refuse this option in Mexico. It is allowed to rent a car, from a rental office or from private owners, but it is also possible to buy it. A guest of the country has the right to buy and sell property in Mexico, and often buying, using, and then selling a car looks like a cheaper option than renting, even long-term. Selection, verification of a car, papers and preparation of its ownership or lease — You are unlikely to understand these issues yourself. Registration of a car as a guest of the country with the traffic police of the state of Quintana Roo is formally impossible, but in reality everything is possible.

Choosing a doctor. You will have to choose two main doctors: a gynecologist who will guide you until the birth itself and then receive it, and a pediatrician who will monitor the baby. The choice of a doctor is more primary and more important than the choice of a clinic. The doctor is able to come to any clinic you choose or will recommend one of them. The doctor himself will assemble a team of medical specialists who will accompany the birth. There are many high-level gynecologists in Mexico, but it is important that you establish immediate contact with your doctor. If you are looking for only a natural birth, this desire also has the right to influence the choice of a doctor, but you need to understand that if the slightest threat to the health and life of the mother or child arises, medical protocols will work, and any doctor will decide to perform a caesarean section without hesitation. Although many doctors speak English, it can't hurt to hire a translator. Advice from a knowledgeable person about which doctor’s services you should accept and which you can refuse will also be beneficial. We work with different doctors, we know the nuances of each and will always be the connecting link between you and the doctor.

Choosing a clinic. There are no specialized maternity clinics in Mexico. You will have to choose from a list of regular hospitals, most of which have the necessary medical equipment for a successful delivery and comfortable stay requirements. By and large, the difference in the cost of childbirth in different clinics is only a reflection of the difference in the level of non-medical services that they offer to patients. One way or another, you will stay in the clinic for a maximum of a couple of days. You can visit the clinics on your own, or you can do this with our support. If you do not speak Spanish, you will need assistance in concluding an agreement with the clinic. We will help with translation, especially since we are fluent in medical terminology.

You may have to choose which city to settle in and give birth in, Playa del Carmen or Cancun. You should know that there are far fewer good clinics in Playa del Carmen than in Cancun, and there is a problem with the blood bank. We will discuss with you the nuances of each city.

Translator.Knowledge of the specifics of childbirth and medical terminology in general — important point. Bringing a companion to all your doctor's appointments may seem like an extreme indulgence. But we always accompany the expectant mother to the doctors, because we know how to transform the medical recommendations given by the doctor into simple language. If necessary, these visits can also take place at night. We are present at admission to the clinic, during childbirth, at discharge, we make sure that the entire package of documentation for the baby is completed correctly and on time. We will take you to the pediatrician and obtain a vaccination card and birth certificate for the child.

Registration of a newborn. In general, a normal organizer will have packages of papers ready after the mother and child are discharged from the clinic, both for registering the baby and for obtaining permanent residence in Mexico by the parents and all family members. And a document in case the boy has the last name Ivanov Ivanova. And it was even calculated and planned on what dates there would be visits from government agencies. For many parents, the question of how long it will take to obtain all the necessary documents is extremely important. Without the help of an organizer, you will carry out all the formal stages one after another, but could be in parallel. Don’t want to go to register your child at the local registry office — the registrar will come to your home, this is included in our price. We will also find witnesses. As a result, the baby will receive a birth certificate, an apostille on it, the following number of copies and a Mexican CURP identification number quickly. Having these documents, it is possible to go get a passport for the child. Purchasing a passport — It’s a different story when you need persistence and the ability to wait on the phone.

There is a situation when the father was unable to come to Mexico for the birth, and the child was registered without a father, putting a dash in the birth certificate. We know how to make sure that after the father’s arrival in Mexico, his last name appears on the birth certificate, and the father himself can obtain permanent residence along with the rest of the family members. This is a moment that many young couples who deal with the paperwork on their own cannot overcome.

Permanent residence for parents and other family members. After the birth of a child in Mexico and receipt of a birth certificate, the process of obtaining permanent residence by parents and other family members — almost automatic, but it also needs to be planned. The Mexican Migration Service issues resident cards very quickly, literally every day, but you still need to get an appointment, the queue stretches for a month and a half or more. He should prepare the package of documents carefully and pay state fees using the correct details. Migration service workers speak Spanish and English, but a translator will not hurt. We also know how to make sure that the birth certificate and CURP appear in the migration system at the right time.

Difficult moment — the child was born after the parents' migration papers had expired. There is nothing wrong with this, but you need to be able to talk to migration service employees so as not to run into excessive fines for violating the migration regime.

Registration of citizenship of the parents' country. Many people believe that this is the most thankless part of the process of obtaining papers in Mexico. Most often we are talking about citizenship of Russia or Ukraine. Without the child's registration of the parents' citizenship, the entire family is unable to return to their homeland. In Mexico, the consulates of most countries are located only in the capital of Mexico City, and both mother, father, and child need to fly there. And more than once. The child must first acquire citizenship and then — draw up a foreign passport, although this is one process. You should prepare the papers, make an appointment at the diplomatic mission, come to the diplomatic mission, and then wait until the passport is ready. Waiting for a passport is perhaps the longest process of all in obtaining documentation. We can speed it up too.

Other services. This typically includes assistance in obtaining an RFC tax number, a local driver's license, and opening a Mexican bank account.

24/7 information support. This is the most important part of our birth management program. Who will you call if you have problems in Mexico? From ordinary household questions and «how to call a plumber» to more complex ones, like how to transfer money or urgently call a doctor at home? We stay in touch 24 hours a day. And we understand perfectly well that we are obliged to make time even for “just talking.”

Departure. The child is healthy, all documents are ready, and the happy family can return to their homeland. You need to sell your car, pack your things, rent out your apartment, return your deposit, and generally complete all your business in Mexico. Farewell at the airport always looks very touching. But one more detail: the child — a citizen of Mexico and should only leave the country with a Mexican passport.

Basic package tariff for organizing childbirth in Mexico:3400 USD.

The price of the basic package of services for organizing childbirth in Mexico does not include medical expenses for doctors and clinic services, and in addition to this, state fees for purchasing documentation, the cost of renting housing, additional transportation costs, etc.
