The Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico City has the opportunity to organize a special flight for relatives of Ukrainians from Krakow, Poland, to Mexico City. It is not known when the flight can take place, but at least 200 passengers must be recruited to carry it out. The Embassy encourages Ukrainians who are currently staying in Mexico and would like to invite their relatives to the country to register them through a special Google form, which is posted hereaddress.
The embassy reports: «Friends! We are exploring the possibility of bringing your close relatives to Mexico who are now forced to leave Ukraine (grandfather, grandmother, parents, sisters, etc.). During the week from 7 to 12 March there will be a private flight to Krakow — Mexico City. They should get to Krakow on their own. In the form, please fill in the details of relatives whom you would like to invite to Mexico during this difficult time for Ukraine, and in addition, your contact information.
The embassy does not specify whether the flight will be free or what the cost of the flight may be.
Currently, only LOT airline operates direct flights from Poland to Mexico, which flies from three Polish cities to Cancun. The flights have charter status and are carried out on orders from Polish travel agencies. Before the coronavirus epidemic, we flew such flights to Mexico, and then it was the most budget option.
If you were unable to fly on a flight organized by the Ukrainian Embassy in Mexico, please note the «last minute» charter offers from Katowice or Warsaw to Cancun. Such offers «at the last moment» represent a few days before departure. It is possible to track them by regularly visiting the page of the Polish travel agencyRainbow. The cost of air travel is usually indicated for two passengers, but using the filter you can choose for one.
For example, a completely fresh offer from Katowice — Cancun on March 10 — 1999 PLN (Polish zloty), or approximately €403 for one passenger. In the current climate, this is a very good price, considering that it is a direct flight, checked baggage and on-board meals are included. Even for flights with transfers through other EU airports you will not find such a price. Moreover, it is cheaper than the current cosmic prices for Turkish Airlines flights.
This is the price for a round-trip ticket; the travel agency does not sell one-way tickets. Firstly, when you fly to Mexico, you don’t have to use the return flight segment. Secondly, we strongly advise against flying to Mexico without a return ticket, even in this day and age. Although Mexican migration authorities have begun to check Ukrainian citizens less thoroughly upon arrival, without a return ticket they may not be allowed into the country as before.
We would also like to remind you that Ukrainians do not need a visa to visit Mexico. You must obtain a free electronic permit online yourself. In addition, you should have a return ticket, a hotel reservation (or a letter from relatives guaranteeing accommodation) and confirm your financial solvency for the duration of your stay in the country. A coronavirus test or vaccination certificate is not required to enter Mexico.
