The Mexican Temporary Resident Card can only be renewed on the same basis on which it was received. If the card was received through marriage, the marriage must be current at the time of renewal. If you received the card through work, you must be employed at the time of renewal.
You cannot renew a card received through marriage based on documents from your employer. But you can renew any card if you married a Mexican citizen or resident or gave birth to a child in Mexico. If you are renewing on a different basis, you must first go through a settlement procedure. In some cases, when receiving a new card, you will have to «lose» years lived in Mexico as a resident.
Lost your reason to renew your Mexican resident card, got divorced, or are unemployed? We can help resolve this situation and prepare a new map on a different basis.
We do not marry anyone and do not invent non-existent children. We select individual solutions based on your situation. We prepare the required papers and justifications and accompany you to the migration service office. With our support, you will receive a new resident card on the day you submit your papers. The new card can be valid for 1, 2 or 3 years, in other words until the end of the 4-year period of temporary residence.
In some cases, you will have to accept the fact that your residence will start from scratch. However, you do not need to leave Mexico to apply for it. In addition, then you will receive a temporary resident card for 4 years at once — it does not need to be renewed, and after 4 years you can obtain a Mexican permanent resident card.
We can also help if the previous basis needs to be confirmed in order to exchange a temporary resident card for a permanent resident card of Mexico.
Our service fee for obtaining a new resident card depends on the basis on which your current card was issued.
The issue of renewing your resident card on another basis must be resolved before you receive a written refusal (resolución) from the migration service to renew it with an order to leave Mexico within 30 days.
If you fail to renew your resident card in time, you will lose your residency status in Mexico.
In addition, we can help acquire a residence permit in Mexico for those who have already received visitor status, but are still awaiting a decision from the Mexican Commission for Refugee Assistance (COMAR) to grant refugee status or who have already been denied such status.
