Certified copies of Mexican certificates

Certified copies of Mexican certificates

Do you need to purchase a certified copy of a birth or marriage certificate previously issued in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo? We can help you with this! We will also affix an apostille to the received certificate and send it to you by courier wherever you say.

Typically, you will need to obtain a certificate again in the following cases:

  • you have lost your previously issued certificate,
  • you submitted a certificate to any government agency and it was not returned to you,
  • the government agency requests a fresh (or updated) certificate,
  • spouses want to have several copies of the marriage certificate,
  • evidence is necessary in a legal dispute,
  • the certificate is required when applying for a residence permit or citizenship of another country.

In Mexico, a certified copy of a certificate from the Civil Registry has the force of the original. It looks just like the original. This is analogous to a repeated certificate or duplicate in other powers. If you certify a certified copy with an apostille stamp, it will be accepted in other countries on the same basis as the original. And this is not the same when an apostille is used to certify a notarized copy. An apostille on a certified copy of a Mexican certificate certifies the copy itself, while an apostille on a notarized copy certifies only the notary's signature.

We can purchase for you a certified copy of a Mexican birth, marriage or divorce certificate from the Civil Registry of the State of Quintana Roo (Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum). You can purchase as many copies as you need. Copies will be on stamp paper with security features, just like the original. Then we will submit the certificate for apostille. After affixing the apostille, we will send the certificate by courier to your address in Mexico or to another country.

To register a certificate in the Civil Registry of the State of Quintana Roo (at the Registro civil office or with a judge), a power of attorney is not required. The timing of purchasing and sending a document, as well as the cost of our services and the amount of mandatory payments are negotiated separately and depend on the type of document.

If necessary, we can also arrange for the certificate to be translated by an official Mexican translator. This is usually necessary when submitting a document to a foreign consulate on Mexican territory or at the US border.
