No apostille on the document?

Apostille — This is a stamp that is placed on a document so that it is considered genuine abroad. Most often, an apostille is required to certify a birth or marriage certificate, as well as a document explaining the change of name or surname.

An apostille can only be affixed in the country where the document was issued.

You brought a document to Mexico, but it doesn’t have an apostille? Such a document is not considered valid in Mexico, and government authorities will not accept it. In Mexico, you cannot affix an apostille to a document issued in another country. Consulates also do not issue apostilles. All that remains is to contact someone at home to affix an apostille to your document and send it to Mexico. But to do this, you first need to prepare a power of attorney in Mexico and send it to your homeland.

Most Mexican government agencies accept apostilled original birth or marriage certificates, but do not accept notarized copies of these documents. Correct certification of a document most often requires re-obtaining the original, which, in addition, can only be done in your home country.

Registration of the original document at home, affixing an apostille to the document and sending it to Mexico takes quite a lot of time. If you need to promptly submit papers to the Mexican Migration Service, but your documents do not have an apostille, we can help resolve this issue quickly. You do not have to request a document with an apostille from your homeland and wait for it to be delivered.
