FEM— Formato Estadístico para Mexicanos (Statistical Format for Mexicans) — a mandatory immigration form that is completed when a Mexican citizen leaves the country through international air or sea crossings. For land travel it is usually not needed. His goal — record departure statistics, including data on the route, purpose of the trip, and also personal information. The form was officially updated and reformed in 2021 and is used as part of immigration control.
The FEM form is available in two versions: as a paper form with instructions for completion on the back side and in electronic form.
FEM paper form
The form can be purchased:
- at airports and other international checkpoints — counters with forms are usually located in registration areas,
- on our website — download, print and fill out by hand.
The completed form must be submitted to an airline representative upon check-in or upon boarding an international flight.
FEM electronic form
From September 15, 2025, FEM can be filled out electronically on your phone. Then you need to download the completed form to your phone. It is not necessary to print the electronic form; it is enough to show it to an airline representative or airport employee when entering the departure area.
The electronic FEM form opens when you point your phone scanner at the QR code posted on banners at airports or in this message from Mexico's National Institute of Migration (INM).
You can fill out the form in advance according to thisaddress. You can use your Llave MX universal account to log in. When authorizing with Llave MX support, personal data will be retrieved automatically. Then you need to save the form on your phone and present it at the airport.

FEM contains the following data:
- Last name and first name, date of birth, gender, type of ID card and its number.
- Method of departure (air, sea, land), name of the carrier, flight or vessel number.
- Country of final destination.
- Place of residence: in Mexico / abroad and for how long.
- Purpose of trip: tourism, business, official, work as part of a crew, etc.
- Signature of the person filling out (or parent for minors), place and date of filling out.
