Structural Requirements
Load Capacity
Standard concrete roofs (losa) in Mexico are designed for 200–350 kg/m². Sufficient for a terrace with furniture and people. For a rooftop pool, reinforcement is needed — adding beams or columns. Engineering calculation is mandatory.
Waterproofing
Critical. A roof leak means flooding the living spaces below. We use modified asphalt membranes (APP/SBS), polyurethane liquid waterproofing, and drainage layers under the finish.
Railings & Safety
Minimum railing height: 90 cm per Mexican code. For rental properties we recommend 110 cm. Materials: steel railings + glass or plastered parapet walls.
