Planning a vacation in Mexico and looking to get legally married while enjoying the Caribbean coast? We provide official marriage registration services for foreign couples in Mexico and handle the entire process for you — so you can focus on your trip, not the paperwork.
Location: Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and the Caribbean Coast
The Mexican state of Quintana Roo offers one of the simplest marriage procedures in the country. In most cases, a valid passport is all you need. Unlike many other regions of Mexico, there is no requirement to provide a birth certificate or proof of single status.
Fast and Simple Process
Your marriage can be legally registered in Mexico within just one business day. Once the official marriage certificate is issued, your marriage is legally recognized internationally.
Required Documents: Passports Only
Before arriving in Mexico, simply send us scanned copies of your passports (the first page is sufficient). No additional documents are required.
No birth certificates. No certificates of marital status. We will obtain all necessary registry extracts on your behalf.
Flexible Dates and Locations
You may choose almost any date for your ceremony — including weekends or even the next available day. We will submit the application to the Mexican Civil Registry (Registro Civil), coordinate the date and time with the judge, and manage all administrative formalities.
If desired, the judge can travel to your hotel, villa, beach venue, or other chosen location for the official registration.
We recommend arriving in Mexico at least one day before the ceremony. Under Mexican law, a blood test is required and must be completed before or shortly after the marriage registration. Once the test results are available, the process can proceed without delay.
If needed, we can provide four witnesses for the registration. You are also welcome to bring your own witnesses, although we recommend avoiding last-minute changes.
The official registration at the Civil Registry usually takes about 20 minutes. The marriage certificate is issued immediately afterward. To make the document legally valid for use abroad, an apostille must be added.
Apostille Processing: 3-4 Business Days
If your travel schedule allows, you may wait for the apostille in Mexico. Otherwise, we can arrange DHL delivery of the completed apostilled certificate anywhere in the world.
Although the legal registration itself takes only one day, we generally recommend staying in Mexico for approximately one week to enjoy your vacation and allow sufficient time for apostille processing.
